A worthy investment to make to secure your bike. This is very easy to justify after having a bike stolen from my own driveway - $70 for a quality lock is a much better choice than paying an insurance theft deductible and having your beloved bike gone forever.The construction of the lock is solid, the mechanism is ok with occasional stickiness but nothing some WD40 can't fix. It is HEAVY so I would not recommend this to take around with you but more to leave in a fixed position at home. The lock comes with 5 keys, which seems vastly unnecessary however I am not complaining as it does not look like the type of lock you'd want to cut off should you lose all of your spares. On more than one occassion, I have locked it around the seat on my scooter while riding home and in the middle of the ride it will just pop open. When I went to unlock my scooter yesterday, I didn't need to bother. The lock had openned up on its own and was just laying on the ground next to my scooter. For a lot less money, I could have just gotten a normal bike lock that would do a better job. |
