It bolted right on without needing the shims and it brought my handlebars to a much more comfortable position. I've done a little off-road riding with it, but nothing too extreme. So far, it's held up well. I'm concerned about the 2 clamps for the handlebars breaking though since they're so thin. I also haven't really been able to confirm it, but I feel like the thing isn't built completely square. It's possible it's just an illusion, or that I have something mounted a little off, but it doesn't seem that everything lines up the way it should.I decided to get this instead of something more expensive because I wanted to see if adjusting the handlebars would help with my comfort without spending a ton of money to find out. So far, it has, and I'll be looking for a more rugged replacement soon since I plan to do more and more off-road riding with jumps and drops. If you just need something cheap to... It has a 90mm 5 degree stem which would have been good for climbing and certainly worked fine as is, but I wanted to be a little further back and there are no large climbs around here anyway. This seems to have done the trick and it definitely seems at least as quality as what came off so I have no concerns about that. This was a good alternative to getting new handlebars as changing a stem is much easier and affordable. I may still change handle bars, but with this stem on the bike and my old one in the "toolbox" I will have more options when I do get a new set of bars. This should compliment a nice set of wide bars.
